Aglianico Riserva Cataratte 1995 90 rating - Tanzer's Int'l Wine Cellar "A brooding giant. World class." - Bloomberg Wine News. The color is so dense and dark it looks almost black. The intense and complex nose, full of ripe fruit with intense notes of toasty new oak and coffee, gives way to a bouquet of tobacco, chocolate and wild berries. Perfect aging in barriques releases a terrific vanilla scent. Full-bodied on the palate, it evolves with complexity, beautifully balancing fruit and tannins. The wine fully merits Two Glasses from Gambero Rosso, and is not far from three. |
